Hello world, I've owned a AP2 for 48 hours..
Hi guys, I'm sure after this I will get back to lurking. I've been shopping for an S2k the last few weeks. It started as an idea considering I was looking at Supras and NSXs the last few months but I really don't like the idea of financing a car older than my little sister that cost a 1/3 of my house, so I started looking at S2000s the last month or so. The first couple of people I talked to were fairly proud. One guy wanted 13k for his 02 Suzuka AP1 with 110,000 miles. Not horribly unreasonable but I kept shopping. Nothing against the AP1 but I really wanted an AP2. I prefer the styling, more liters and a little quieter on the inside. Like a stroke of luck a gentleman posted a 2004 AP2 on Craigslist at a fire sale price. Despite him saying things like "excellent condition" and "very well maintained", I was nervous about the 190,000 miles.
Long story short, it turned out to be everything he said and more. Further more, 150,000 of those miles were driven by his aunt. She came with a Comptech cold air intake, a snazzy JVC smart radio with NAV and an exhaust system I haven't figured out the name on. The little guy only owned it 3 months and wanted a truck instead. God bless the youth. He was a nice guy and sold me this sweet car for an awesome price. This is by far the most fun thing I've driven in a while and my favorite car I've ever owned. If you poke around you will realize I once upon a time owned an Mk2 MR2 turbo. This car is more fun. It comes out of the box NA with more fun and it doesn't feel as unstable on tight corners. I love this car. (Nothing against MR2s, just being honest with the world and myself.)
Any who, she is Grand Prix White and likes to party. Here are some pictures, I'm going to get back to lurking the boards.

Stunning car!
Check the elastic straps that move the rear bow on the roof when opening it. Your roof doesn't appear to be all the way down and that bow is usually the problem. The elastic on mine was shot and I didn't realize what the problem was until pointed out in my photos.

The soft top is brand spanking new, but I will definitely check that out. Thanks Chuck
I spent a lot of last night digging through s2ki for pro tips.
The amount of easily accessed info on this site with a no bs attitude is beautiful.
