Default Helloo!

Hey, I'm Whitney.
I've recently (last night) looked at a 2000 Red S2k, and personally, I loved it. The downside was the top was literally ripped up, and was fixed using what looked like the a trash bag, or something similar. A few paint chips and scrapes, ohohoh, and a HUGE wing. The owner, which is a 'she' said it was a fashion statement!

The downdownnnside, is that it's out of my budget, and i'm trying to drop her down a little bit. It already has 130k miles, and the blue book suggests its about 6000, so i offered a middle of 6800.

Bahhh, idk. I dont want to get my head too into this, and get attached, annd not get it lol.

Ahhwell, HELLOOO S2Ki, nice to meet you allll!

Walk away if your inner voice and gut feeling give you some sort of insecurity.

First thing you should do is check the cost of you insuring it. It sounds like this person did not take good care of it and the care they did was only half a$$ed. A little personal advice, do not get in over your head in anything.

You are not going to want a top that is ripped, and they do not replace cheap...so that is an immediate expense.

And I fully agree with 'dfvs2k'...trust your gut feeling. There are a lot of other s2k out there.

Good Luck and welcome...

Welcome

Check out the regional communities for your area. Many local members have soft tops laying around and have done the install/ removal before. You may be able to get an s2000 with a ripped top but have it replaced asap with some members on here

Whitney,

Welcome..but like the people posted on here..walk away, think about it..there will be other...I already wouldn't take it in that condition as you are noticing the care given from the prior owner...find a local member on here as that could pose better options...GOOD LUCK.

Well, I must like a challenge. Haha, I bought it.

The biggest issue is getting a new soft top. I'll also need a new front bumper sometime, but more worried about the top.

I guess this car wasnt as big of a problem to me, because i've owned beaters. Ahhwell, i'll have this car shining in no time ;p

But, i do have one other concern. When i'm driving in higher rpms.. 4-5, i hear a bogging sort of sound. I knowfor sure its not the engine, sounds like under the car.. suspension or exhaust?

Um, is it more like a whining sound? You really should have had the car evaluated by a mechanic or dealership before you bought it. Any used car should get the once over.
