Hi people! After 5yrs of trying to kill myself on various fast Honda bikes including a 954RR Blade, I am now in the process of buying an S2000 as a second car.

Can anyone tell me what are the main things to look for when buying a private car? I've found a nice 2000 model with 38k on the clock in Silver/Red and the photos all look rather promising. I'm off to look at it next weekend with a view to buying it straight away as its about 150 miles away. I've got a rough ideal what sort of things to look for and i'm taking a mate who knows quite a lot about cars but anyway S2000 specific things to look out for would be really helpful.

carfax is your best friend.

 

I don't know if Carfax is in Great Britain or not but it's only as good as the data in its database. It's a tool but is often missing important vehicle history about a car. It's good for eliminating a car when it has the history but not much good when it doesn't.
