Default Hey everyone

Hey everyone. I'm currently the owner of a 95' Maxima and am at the point where I need to move on. I was previously looking at 350z until a friend of mine told me to try out the honda S2000. I test drove it last thursday and am in love with the car. I had a huge interest in the car back when it first came out and for some reason it just drifted away. I now remember why I liked the car and am looking at an 05' (just came back as a matter of fact.)

I have a few questions. What does AP1 and AP2 mean? Also, what does MY00 and MY01 mean? I'm guessing "My 2001 s2k" or "My 2000 sn2k"

Thanks for any/all help.

MY = Model Year, and AP1 refers to 2000-2003 S2000s while AP2 refers to 2004-2007 S2000s (the largest difference between them being the 2.2 L, 8k redline engine in the AP2).

ahh ok. Thanks. That makes a lot of posts on here easier to read and understand. Going by consumer reports, it said all s2k years are good except 03' which had some engine and transmission problems by a lot of customers. Theres only one for sale around here (Winston Salem, NC) and it's an 05' w/ 40k miles for 24k. I think I might make the decision this week.

I think you should just go with a new 2007, you can get one for 28k - 29k before TTL. You have the benefits of a new car and it's not much more than a used one....

Mys- I'm not the one buying it (shoot me for being spoiled, its a college gift) and I'd rather have a car that is already broke in. I mean, I'd take a new S2k but I dont have that option.

dds2k- Nice to see another S2k driver in the area. Theres a few S2k modders close by. I saw a white S2k at carrabas last week that was lowered and had a nice c/f hood. Wonder if he's on the foru.

Also dd, if you hear about any S2ks for sale in the area, let me know. I checked out flow honda for a used S2k. They showed me something on the computer and the one they had was the only S2k for sale among all 28 flow dealerships.

so you have your eye on the ap2 models?..i have my car for a week now and i love it.!!! yesturday i took it to the blue ridge parkway after sunset with top down, it is so awesome!! there was tiny drizles of rain, but it did not bother me at all , if you go faster then 65 the water wont come in, we live in a perfect place to own an s2000. well let me know when you get which one you decided on, but for me i look into privaste partys sales then dealers (more negotiable)

I was looking at a few private party sales but if you buy from a dealership, you get an extended warranty.

a month ago there was a lady in va beach, 05 silverstone/red-black interior with 4.4k miles , for 22.5 ...i kinda regret taking so long to respond to her , by the time i called her a week later car was already sold..but that to me was the best deal so far. the reason i did not jump on it is because i already made arrangements to head one way to boston for the s-2000 that i purchase..are you paying in cash or financing the s-2000?..my car still have about 9 months of warrenty left from manufacture, 3 years 36 thousand miles. take care and let me know how the search is going.
