Default Hi every1

Hey every1

My name is Roger and I just picked up my S2000 today.. I needed a Daily driver and got mine for a good deal.. I dont really know much about the car but I'm learning as i go.. I'm a early 90s honda guy turned nissan.. always wanted a S2000 and couldnt pass up the deal i got.. I hope to learn more about the car as i go along.. hehe it took me 40mins to locate the dip stick.. I want to do a oil change on it.. but have no clue on how much oil it takes.. ask me anything about SR20dets and or B series motors and i know it.. but this is totally different for me.. here are specs on my car.. its a 2000 model.. I bought it used for 15k... and the car has 35k miles.. the color is black with red interior.. the previous owner put a MP3 player cd deck so now the audio controls is useless.. i know its such a noob question to ask how much oil it takes but if any1 can answer that for me it would be awesome.. i also drive a 95 240sx and a 90 240sx.. both cars are for drifting.. you dont see 2 many S2000 drifting, but i will help represent us.. here are some pics.. thanks alot..

Congratulations and welcome to the boards.
It sounds like the owner's manual was not part of the deal!... a few new owners find it in the "secret compartment" (cubby between seats; pop top below wind screen) or in the trunk under the tools or even with the spare tire. It's a good idea to change those fluids, especially if you do not know the history of the vehicle. There is a lot of good information on this site, which you can find by performing a search. Best wishes and enjoy.

Wow, awesome deal. With all the money you saved, you can afford to do a soft top conversion and get a new top with a glass rear window! I know people use different things to try and clear the plastic, but having a glass window myself, I don't personally know them.

Also, get the Modifry DCI - it is easy to install and will give you back your dash controls.

Also, I think you have the Amuse lip - that is the best lip you can get for the AP1 body imo. Maybe you should sheck and see if you have any other upgrades, like better door speakers, etc.

an amuse lip?? you mean it isnt the stock lip?? yea later down on the road when i have some money i'll get the mod to use the dash controls.. i done a search and cant seem to find a good answer on oil capacity.. it seems to vary between 4.8qt to 5.1qt.. i'll figure it out..

i love this car man.. its like a upgraded version of my old del sol.. only that thing was turbo/nos... from what i got from the previous owner he said he added the lip and changed the rear bumper to a new model bumper.. i will get more pics soon.. but i doubt it will be anything cool.. its just a stock s2000

Roger, welcome to s2ki.com, and congrats on your acquisition of one of the finest automobiles on the planet.

Do a full oil change (including the filter). Make sure to use a PCX filter (not anything else) form Honda. Check the oil journals thread (see the Introductions FAQ links thread) to pick an appropriate oil. Oil capacity is about 5.25 quarts, and maybe closer to 5.4 quarts with filter change too.

For that matter, change *all* the fluids on your car. At 6 years old, you should do them all.

One other thing, be patient (re?-)educating yourself on rear wheel drive. The car may feel a bit like a Del Sol, but don't get caught out pushing into a turn... You will lose it. Turning is a different experience with RWD.

Best wishes. The car looks sharp. And, yeah, from what I can remember that doesn't look like the stock lip (but honestly it's been a while)...
