Default Anyone Running Redline Oil in their S2000 ?

Just curious if anyone here runs Redline Oil in their S2000. I've always liked the high moly content in that oil, I'm not too concerned about cost despite it being an expensive oil since one oil change would last me a full season. If anyone has a used oil sample of Redline oil on their S2000 that would be cool, but any user testimonial would be great. Thanks for reading.

Wasn't the previous owner of your car using Redline lubes? Ask him/her for the UOA's and testimonials. That's your best bet for your car joey.

I have used nothing but Redline since I have owned the car. I used the car for 2 years and many miles when it was a streetable car and have since continued using it for the last 7 years as a competition non street legal car. I have been using Redline in all my vehicles for over 15 years. Great stuff for sure!

Hi Jack, he was only using Redline in the differential, not the engine. He didn't use UOA's either.

Thanks for the reply, that sounds like a pretty good run on that oil. Have you ever taken used oil analysis samples ?.

No, I haven't felt the need to. If I am using a top 5 oil then whatever happens, happens. I have 266k miles on my truck and it doesn't use any oil and I tow the car with it 3 seasons of the year. I also use Redline in the diffs and transmissions. My truck is a 6 speed manual.

People have definitely posted UOA's from an S running redline oil. For some reason, I seem to remember the results were slightly less than optimal (not bad, just not great), but don't quote me on that.

I recall some Hondas having higher lead numbers when running Redline oil but it was felt that it wasn't bearing wear, rather the cleaning process when running group 5 oils and some other reaction no related to wear.

If you are using a good synthetic oil and changing the filters and oil when you are suppose to, at the end of the day, UOA numbers and a quarter will get you a phone call. More people blow high RPM shifts and toast there motors than have issues from bad oil.

From personal experience on 3 vehicles I have owned, I had burn rate issues with Mobil 1 oils. As soon as I switched to Redline, my oil consumption went away in all 3 vehicles. I will not use Mobil 1 in anything anymore, my choice from experience.

Use what you think is best and can afford.

Thanks for your replies on this and the added info, good to hear about the low oil consumption experience, that is always good.
