Default Hi, I'm new, I have S2k questions, lots of them.

So I'm thinking about a S2k. I have a bunch of questions regarding it and the search feature doesn't seem to work. I already know these cars handel phenomenally well so my questions are power based. I'm not looking for the fastest car on the street, but something with a little power. I know the answers will very depending on which year, so just bare with me.

1. How much power is the stock motor good for?

2. What would the stock quartermile time and mph be?

3. Approximately what is the top speed on a s2k? What mph is redline in 6th gear?

4. In order to have, say 350whp, what parts will need to be replaced (i.e. clutch, axles, etc?)

5. Is there a certain year not to buy?

Any other useful info would be appreciated.

S2000 is not the car for you. Get something with more engine tunability.

it sounds like your looking for a drag car. if so, the s is the wrong place to look.
you can get something else with more discplacement for less $$$

no definantly not. I'm looking for something with a little power though. 350 or so whp doesn't seem like too much to ask for... to make it a all around quick car rather than just handeling.

lol, if you want 350 whp stock, you need to buy a corvette.

besides, power is relative.

I agree with everyone. A mustang GT cost way less and has ~300 american hps. From the sound of your questions, this may be a match.

The driving experience of the S2000 is qualitative, not quantitative. Meaning, if all you want is numbers, look elsewhere. If all you want is smiles, the S2000 is hard to beat.

I just picked mine up today, and frankly while it's nowhere near as fast as what you're looking for, it is going to be very hard to stay out of trouble in this car. So I guess the question is, what do you need all that power for?
