Default Holy Grail S2000

After returning my 2006 at lease maturity last year I immediately regretted the decision. 12 months of searching ended yesterday when I bought a 2001 with (believe it or not) 5300 actual miles. the car is a 1 owner and looks like the day it left the showroom. Now for my questions:

-given the age of vehicle are there any concerns I should have about fluids, belts etc.?

-Tires are original and appear to be in good shape without cracks. Should I replace to be safe?

Do you have the service history? Most fluids should be replaced on a mileage/time interval -- whichever comes first. It's in the owners manual. Obviously the time intervals are what you're concerned about

Not to scare you, but last year there was a local guy selling a ~10k mile MY2000, and paying attention to mileage alone, he had only changed the oil twice

thanks all. before I bought I ran a full car fax history report which seemed to show that the car was into the local honda dealer for service. I'll see if the dealer can get me a service history.

Great find for the miles Post it up once you get the service history. I would give the car a good once over just for peace of mind.

^I would replace all the fluids (since it's so cheap to do so) and I would also replace the tires.

Nice find though (pity the poor soul that bought the car, but never drove it) and welcome back! Post some pics!

Yes deff replace all of the fluids. I'm a tech at the local Honda dealership and we recommend that the brake and clutch fluids only be in there for a max of 3 years. Also change out ur MTF and ur rear diff fluid, if it hasn't been changed, do it right away. Obviously u don't have to worry about power steering fluid, lol, or miles. Awesome find for such low miles. The only thing I say is really inspect the car good to find anything, before driving, durring, and after checks are always good if ur searching for something. (got that from the years in the army, lol.) even if ur fluids look good, change them if they are past that timeframe. Coolant as well, over time your coolant looses it's ability to prevent corrosion, and while u don't have to worry as much with most hondas bc of the all aluminium design, it's still good practice.

Pics or ban! Lol

You guys are great for giving this advice. I have the car scheduled to have all fluids replaced next week. Found service history from owner. He changed the oil every year before putting it away in storage. How about the belts?
I honestly cant find a nick on the car (not even rims). I also discovered that the top had never been put down (don't ask me why). I checked the forum on type of fluid to use and came away pretty confused by it all.
I'll get pics posted this weekend.
Cheers!
