Honda Civic to S2000...
Hi everyone!
I'm a current Honda Civic FN3 (2.2 Type S) owner, on the lookout for an S2000. My heart has wanted one for many years and it's about time I got on with it! Seen a few recently sell that I missed out on but I'm patient enough to find the right one
I'm an established member on Civinfo.com, and will be saying goodbye to the Civic once I find the perfect S2k - a small piece of me never wants to let the Civic go but "follow your dreams" and all that! Will just have to make sure the Civic goes to a loving home...
I've read through many threads already that have loads of advice on buying one so that's already helped me loads, and I'll be continuing to read up as I go.
Joined a while ago but didn't post anything as was still just reading around.
Anyway I won't ramble on anymore - just wanted to say hello

Having made the above "introduction" in March, I'm still looking!
I'm after an 04 GT in Moonrock with red & black leather... but they seem to be impossible to find in any kind of decent condition. Am I missing a trick on how to get hold of one of these magical machines?

After a 4-5 months of not selling they drop £500-£1000. So a bit of negotiating plus trading your old Civic might see you through.

(Just checked it now and got excited! There are a couple of very good cases there - but slightly expensive as expected!
One 2008 with 39k reduced £500 at 14k (I think you can settle on 13k if you bargain hard)
Tell them they lose approximately £170 for every month that the car is not being sold! And to find a buyer these days it is NOT exactly easy as only enthusiasts will pay the extra buck!
Alternatively if you can wait..
If I was you going to visit them, I'll show my interest but the first offer I'll make will be 10,500 (minus what you get for your Civic!). Top offer 11,500 and then say to them, oh well I'll wait 6 months then and I'll come and get it from you at this price!
Have the strength to leave the place (although I'm afraid the S might choose you and not you the S as it happened with me - it was whispering in my ear) One 2009 with just 19k miles but they are asking 16k (this one for 14,500 will still be a good bargain I reckon as it practically looks new)
One more piece of advice when you go to see the car, pop the bonnet and check on the bottom right corner (so close to the headlight) for VIN number. Now pop that VIN here:
http://honda-tech.com/vindecoder.php
To find out info as:
-Factory in where it was produced
-Technical specs of the engine
-YEAR OF PRODUCTION
Mine for example has on the reg plates 2009 (so it was registered in the UK in 2009) but it was actually produced in 2008!
Think about it! This might be another Ace under your sleeve as if you do the VIN check there and then you might stun the seller. Especially if you play it right. Oh, I came all this way to see a 2009 but as it proves..

All the best in locating your ideal one. I would say your best weapon is PATIENCE on this endeavour.
Took me 6 months to find a Berlina Black, 57k miles on the clock, one owner (from a dealer) with asking price £13,500
Eventually end up paying £12,500 plus I got the Hard top for free!
Especially for UK weather, hardtop is priceless (at least £500 used I believe if you decide to look for one separately)
Hope this helps!, happy hunting
Thanks not4s4l3!
The 2008 that's on there I've already been to see as it's at my local Honda dealer; unfortunately it's not in quite as good condition as the pictures lead you to believe and the dealer are very firm on the price. It's been advertised for quite a long time now so I'll let it sit for a while and then see what they say!
