Default Hopeful New Boy

Hi all,

Just signed up for a bit of advice, really. I've currently got a "tinkered with" EP3 Civic and absolutely love it. However, I've always liked the looks of the S2k and think it may be time to swap. The questions I've got are:

1) I have played with my CTR quite a lot & it's now running 243BHP, so it's no slouch. I'll probably end up doing exactly the same with any new car. How tunable are the S2k's? What is needed to remap them? Do they respond as well to breathing mods as the K series engine?

2) Possibly the deciding factor at this time. I ferry my little lad to and from his nan's/nursery most days. He is a "not particularly small" 2 year old and is currently in a child seat (a seemingly VERY well built Recaro. If anyone is looking for a child seat, buy one. They're £20 more than Mothercare but infinitely better). Now, this car seat is fastened into the back of my CTR by the seatbelt & nothing more. In my head, this means that it should fit in any car with a seatbelt, as long as I can tighten it up, enough. The car seat will be a permanent fixture as, if the three of us (the missus) are going anywhere, we always go in her motor anyway. Can/should a car seat be fitted to an S2k? Obviously, the middle of the back seat is always the safest place to be but the Civic is only a 4 seater, anyway. Therefore, he's on the passenger side of the car. If I turned the airbags off, would it really make any difference if I had him in the front or the back?

Thanks, in advance,

I can't answer to much about the car seat but I can say that the s2k is not too friendly to breather mods. The f series is kinda maxed out from the factory. With bolt on mods you will only see minimal gains.

Well, it got bought! Needs a bit of a polish but a few hours with my mop & it'll be spot on. Only trouble is, I've got to wait until the sellers private plate comes off before I can have it. The next week, or so, is going to be very long!

It's a '99 Jap car that was imported to the UK in 2003. The guy who imported it has kept it until now. Full Scorpion system & 18" OZ Superlegerras. 78k and my Recaro child seat fits perfectly (really, it's like they were made for each other).
