Hmmm - so it sounds like the 300 miles shouldn't make me too worried that the engine has been harmed etc?

Thanks for the tip on EBay motors - It looks like there are a few 2005's available for 28ish.

I especially appreciate the tip on the $750 incentive - I didn't know that was out there.

I am thinking that I may offer $26,000 and just see how motivated they really are. I doubt I'll get it for that right away - but I wounldn't be suprised if they called me back close to the end of the month to ask if I would still make that deal.

Anyway - thanks for the input so far - keep it coming!!

$26k is low-balling. $29k seems more reasonable.

If they really wanted to get rid of it i'd say start with 25K see the guys reaction and go from there.I think 26.5K sounds reasonable to me.

I've seen dealers trying to get rid of '05's for 29k, so that price is ridiculous. you should be able to get it 28k or less.

$28K is absurd. $30,334 is invoice. You have $994.50 in Dealer holdback, and $750 dealer cash. so you're looking around 28,500-28,600 for dealer triple net. Some dealer who's had their car in their inventory in excess of 1xx days may let you have it near that price but not $500 below it. Keep in mind is it really unreasonable for the dealer to try to at least make $100-$200 profit on a $30K car that costs them $$ to keep in their inventory? With the '06's around the corner it's reasonable to get one near triple net-but not under it. How will you know how long the car's been in their inventory wit certainty? Check page one of their service history for the PDI date for starters. The Window labels are another giveaway. THe big blue ones were put into use about 90 days ago so if it's got the olde label you know it's at least 90 days old. Good luck!

Walk in with confidence, state your price, and if they say yes, good, if they say no, walk straight out of their. I guarantee they will go running after you before you get into your car.

That is unless you offer them something totally absurd like $22K or something!
