I just bought 2007 Black/Black S2000
I recently purchased a 2007 Black/Black S2000 @ 54,000 miles. Purchased it in April from a local Audi dealer. I checked with CarFax about history and found the previous owner had recently had service then traded the car for an Audi. Contacting the previous service shop, I learned the problem - minor. I also had my local car shop check it out and they said car was like new - did all kinds of checks and it checked out. A compression check was done and it checked out too.
I have had a few cars that I really liked, a 1963 Avanti R2, 1996 and 1997 Miatas and now the S2000. I first saw the S2000 on a Rick Steves Europe tour. We were in Rottenburg, Germany in 2000 and just outside the ramparts, there was a display of Honda products. The S2000 was highlighted (I think it was Grey) and I loved it. I didn't have the funds at that time to get one and I guess it went to the back of my mind.
I had to sell my 97 Miata a few years ago and really regretted it. Tried to buy that one back but the owner loved it as much as I had when I owned it. The S2000 came back to the forefront of my mind and I started looking for one. It didn't take long and the 2007 came up in my search AND...it was local.
I love it and the few regrets I have are that I didn't buy one sooner. I am 73 now and it would be a lot easier to get in and out of back in 2000 or so. The second regret I thought I had was storage...the little glove tray and the two side pockets don't do much for storage. The console storage doesn't do it either. I found the 'secret' compartment and it makes the storage a bit easier. I also bought a console organizer from Modifry Products and that helps too with keeping stuff in place.
I've put 3000 miles on the car and I love it. I get a lot of 'thumbs up' signals as I drive it from people in all kinds of really great cars. I live in Washington State (Tacoma area) and I think this is one of the best areas to have a convertible...very temperate climate. I'll be driving it in the Spring/Summer/Fall and parking it in winter. I'll keep it til I can't get in and out of it which I hope is 10-15 or more years from now.
