Hey guys I am looking at a 2002 Honda S2000 with 12,857 miles on it, they are asking 17,895 for it, at a dealership, carfax report is clean. I want to know about the advantages and disadvantages of buying a 2002 S2000. Can any of you guys help me out?

 

That sure is a low mileage one. What color? The best pat of getting a 02 or newer is the glass rear window, plus the 02 revs to 9k.

Alot of people think the 02/03 are the best years...I have an 02 BTW . The interior is updated, better sound system, and the glass rear window as mentioned above. Best of all, you get the 9k redline. Sounds like a great price too.

 

Very good price considering the miles, I paid $17k for my MY02 but it had 38k on the clock. MY02-03 are good years, many of the kinks from the early years worked out, including the aforementioned rear window, sound system and interior. MY04+ are a bit different, engine tweaked to make it a better daily driver, suspension/wheels changed, more interior upgrades and some exterior changes. There is a great checklist stickied on this site, very thorough. Check out the tires for sure, new rubber isn't cheap for these cars. Also, AP1s sometimes use oil. Its usually not a problem, so long as you check it and stay on top of it. Good luck.

 

HAHA yeah dude it is silver. The color that I dont really want, I know for sure I want AP1, but this one was too good to pass up, unfortunately, they sold it yesterday before I got a chance to look at it so I will start the search for another I guess.

 

Oh well, now you can get GPW

 

GPW is like my least favorite color though, I like NFR, Berlina Black, or Silverstone.
