Default I need to fill an empty space in my...

I have an empty space in my garage that normally is occupied with a toy for me. It started a few years ago when I picked up a 1966 Mustang, worked on it all winter and then sold it. Then I purchased a 2000 Miata and loved the top down driving. The next car was a Mercedes SLK230 I purchased in Florida and drove back 3000 miles. Great drive with top down most of the way, great car, but with both the SLK and the Miata for sale, the SLK sold first. The Miata sold last week so now all I have is my daily driver Mazda 3.

Which leads me to this forum and my introduction. I'm up and over here in Newfoundland, Canada, where I can normally take the car out mid-April (no salt left on the roads) and usually get into late November before any snow hits and the salt trucks take to the streets. I'm in my late 40's, and looking for a car that I will enjoy driving, do my own minor repairs and maintenance, and will probably customize the car a little to my tastes, such a a nice stereo, nice wheels (Had 6UL's from 949 on my Miata, excellent and beautiful wheels, great service from Emilio).

I need a new toy and I am really interested in a S2K. Love the look of the car, like that it is not too common, and hopefully I can find a nice black on black, 2004 or later, with no more than 50,000 miles. I don't mind bringing the car back to Canada from the US. There are some hoops to jump through, but if you do it correctly the import process really is a painless process. I have all winter to shop so I plan on taking my time, and shop across Canada and all the way down to Florida.

I have started reading through the forums, the DIY sections, etc to get a feel for what to look for on a used S2K. With the other cars I have always joined the forums, contributed what I knew and learned, and look forward to doing the same here.

Niteshade-

Best of luck in your search for a clean low mileage model. Shouldn't be too hard!

You've definitely made the right choice with the S & the color. I've had mine for a little over 6 months now, & I can't be any happier. For me, there were no other cars in that price range that even came close. Good luck in finding your toy!
