I probably did the strangest trade in for a S2k
Hello all,
I'll let the photos do most of the talking. I traded my SRT-10 Ram in on Friday, and brought home a 04 S2000. I've been looking for the right deal for about 6 months and finally pulled the trigger. Also waited for the value of my truck to come back up a little bit. When Premium gasoline was 3.50 a gallon in my area, the trade value of my truck tanked. I waited it out and was lucky enough to work with one of my clients and swung a good deal. Got 10,000.00 of debt off of my credit, and I won't be spending 85 bucks on a tank of gas anymore!

What I miss:
Being up in the air.
Big side view mirrors.
535lb/ft of torque, available from idle to 5500rpm (nuff said)
Giving the gas pedal a little tap at a stoplight and having the whole body twist and shake.
Downshift from 6th to 3rd @ 80mph = 50ft of rubber on the ground
What I don't miss:
Average of 11.8mpg on Premium fuel.
Wiping down those giant 22" wheels every week because of brake dust.
Buying tires for those 22 inch wheels @ 300.00 a piece.
Washing, waxing, and detailing all those acres of sheet metal
Truck has a real harsh ride. I would call the S2000 'taught' but my truck was just mean if the road was even just a little rough.
Both vehicles are/were daily driven toys, we'll see how I do this winter. The truck had bald tires through last winter, and I did OK. It behaved itself unless I wanted to go crazy.
I put 150 miles on the S2000 in 2 days. Most of it with the top down and heat blasting. Today was nice in Illinois. (Bears won again, and it was 65 and sunny.) Part of my deal is to have the dealer refinish all 4 wheels because of curb rash, take out all dents and door dings, and give it a good polishing. From 5ft away it looks great and I'm having a lot of fun.
Take it easy
Chris
