If you can't afford full coverage, you can't afford an S2000.

There's no way around it.

Don't rush into it just cause you want a S2k... Your young. Even if you are a smart driver, other people aren't. Some rear ends you at a light.. What then... Even a used S2k is still a worthy investment that needs to be protected.

If you must get a new car...Why don't you just move up to a used RSX S or something. Insurance should be much cheaper than a S2k but still nicer and faster than what you have now.

However I would recommend keeping the del sol and save up cash. Longer you wait the cheaper you insurance will be plus you will finance less or none. I don't know your financial situation. This is of course if the del sol is still reliable transport.

I've wanted a S2k for 4 years now but still don't own one. I could probably go trade in my car and go into more debt and still make my bills every month but it just wouldn't be smart.

What kind of quote did you get? Is insurance too much even if you go with a high deductatible?

unless you plan on paying for the car flat out...there are not many finance companies that will give you a loan without full coverage.
