It's been a long time coming...
I grew up in an all Honda family. My father bought nothing but Hondas. It started off with a 1980 accord, next was a 1988 accord, then came the 94 accord (my daily driver, 245k and still going strong), next a 2007 accord, followed by a 05 civic, and can't forget to mention the 2 Honda lawnmowers. Obviously he was a little fanatical. But, when you are young you look up to your parents, and try to emulate them in every way. In my eyes Honda’s were the greatest cars ever, and my first venture into a Honda a dealership only convinced me further.
I was 10 years old, and my dad needed to take the 94(when you have so many Hondas, sometimes it is just easier to call it by the year) in for service. He asked if I want to come with him and of course I wasn’t going to say no. We walked into the showroom, and the first thing I saw was a brand new 2000 NFR s2000, and I instantly fell in love. I sat in the driver’s seat and imagined driving down the road and how “cool” I would be… if only I could see over the steering wheel. From that point on I always imagined owning an s2000, I just never honestly believed the day would come.
Two summers ago my dad passed away, and his 94 subsequently became mine. Even though the car is more than 20 years old (he bought it in December of 1993) it still looks/runs great, and if I could I would keep it forever. Obviously with a car that is over 20 years old and has 245k on the clock, its days are unquestionably numbered and the day will come when I have to part ways with it. Knowing this wouldn’t be easy for me, I wanted to have something that I could, keep forever. That something turned into a 2007 NFR s2000 with 6000 miles. I wish I had better pictures, but these will have to do for now.
