Default It's decision making time M3 or S2000

So here's my situation. I have a 2004 carbon black/imola red m3 with 19" ssr gt3's. I absolutely love the car, but i'm thinking about selling it and buying a 2006 s2000, so i can free up some money for myself. I know there are a couple of people on the boards here that have both cars or traded one for the other, and i wanted to hear what you guys have to say. BTW I'm 28. I don't need 4 seats or a big trunk. I just want a car that gives me a great driving experience. For 30k i don't think that there's a better driving/looking car than an s2000.

So basically, will i miss my M3 if i switch to the s2000?

Thanks for your input.

Question : Does the roof of that M3 comes off? Do you want a convertible? Powerwise I think you will have to get used to 100HP less and a ton of torque less, but play in VTEC'land and it's addictive. If I had to choose between a MY04 M3 vert and a S2000, I'd take the M3, it it was not vert, it would be a very very hard decision I'd take the S2000 with the M3 engine, damned

I would look for a leftover 2005 and go FI if you're worried about not having enough kick. An S2000 stock is a fun, visceral driver's car and it sounds like that is what you are looking for. Good luck!

I've never been a fan of forced induction, so i won't be taking that route. I do feel that the car does need more kick in the pants acceleration to keep me satisfied. Unfortunately i've only been able to test drive stock s2000's. I wish i could spend some time behind the wheel of a n/a modded one. I'm guessing that with a toda reflash, megan header, and buddy club iv exhaust that i could get more noticable power from the engine. Thanks for your suggestion.

BTW my m3 is a coupe.

Well, since you've driven the S2000, you'll know the feeling by now. Just wanted to reply that it is hard to find another car giving you that much fun to drive for your money! Especially top down in the twisties

N/A modding is wicked expensive, Jaydon. I'll just warn you about that now.

Wouldn't talk you out of the S, but given your comment about how you felt about the stock S, I think you should do a few more test drives and make up your mind.

The S2000 is a street legal go-cart. I can't get the smile off my face when I am driving it.

It is a good looking, do all sports car. 28-29 mpg on the highway, golf clubs fit in the trunk....and take it to a road course or AutoX event and not have to do anything but drive it there. It just can't be beat from a value standpoint.

My favorite quote: "The S2000 is impractial only to those who ignore the thrill of life."

That was my problem... 350Z..G35..S2000..Evo IX..Used M3.. I picked S2000. If I have more $$$ Definitely M3. Keep M3 or trade in for a conv.
