Default From JDM 2011 STi to JDM 2002 S2000!

First post here though I have been admittedly lurking for the last month or so.

Picked up a 2002 AP1 earlier this month with only 21,000km (13,000 miles) on her.

Grandprix White with the red leather seats.

100% stock and obviously not driven very much as evidenced by the low mileage.

I am coming from a 2011 Subaru STi which I liked a lot but for some reason got tired of all the rattles and creaks so I traded it in for a car 9 years older! lol

Truth is the S2000 and STi are completely different beasts.

The STi has AWD and a twin scroll turbo with 310hp but weighs A LOT more than the S2000.

Seating position is also a lot higher and with the added weight I felt as if the STi rolled way too much in corners.

That cannot be said for the S2000 which after a couple of weeks of driving, I totally love, especially handling on corners.

Even at 250hp (JDM), the lighter weight of the S2000 gives it the sensation that its just as fast (or faster) as the STi (though not at launch).

Got lots of mods planned, already picked up a set of used white Prodrive Monoblock Forged GC-010G wheels with Direzza Z1's from another S2000 owner here.

Being in Japan, the options and parts are overwhelming (yes I already got my Hyper Rev magazine).

Any way look forward to learning a lot and sharing as well!

Of course I got a custom number plate!!

Welcome!

I came from a 2009 STI to a AP2 myself. The AP2 puts a grin on my face all the time. Good luck on your build
