Joining in on the sun & fun!
Hello everyone!
My story begins about 3 years ago when my search for a S2000 started. Between the pros and cons of the ap1 and ap2, after much consideration I decided on the original ap1 with all its quirkiness. It has taken a while but I finally found the one and drove her home.
This is MoneyPenny, 2001 in Silverstone over black. Picked her up on 4/6 and what a journey it was. After numerous pm's and texts with the seller trying to figure out payment options and how to actually drive it back with it being fully insured. MA is a pain in the ass to buy out of state but with everything figured out only the final step remained.
The morning of my flight and at the the gate to Ohio, I find out that Delta has over booked and had to sit near by chomping at my nails in hopes to make it to one of those coveted waitlisted seats. For what seemed like forever and 15 minutes before take off they finally announce my name through the PA! Might have scared some people with my joy as they looked at me insanely while I ran to the gate desk with a huge grin. A long two hours later, the seller was awesome and drove 1.5 hours to the airport to pick me up. Thanks Ben! After the walk around, test drive and a trip to the bank I'm off into the wind towards Boston.
While going over the river and through the woods I am greeted by light to heavy rains from before Cleveland to past Syracuse with temps in the high 30's to low 40's. Definitely had some white knuckle driving in it with a dash of fear that the rain might turn into snow. This being my first rwd car and prior test drives happening on nice clear days I really didn't know what to expect but she drove like a champ with summer tires through the mess. Right around 12 hours of driving and many mcd's stops at 4am on 4/7 I pulled into the safety of my driveway.
Being able to join this great community that has all this information and knowledgeable people I feel confident that in the care and time I put in will be good. Starting with preventive maintenance items we'll see where she ends up. As for right now though, staying stock has a good ring to it and will enjoy the car.
Thanks for reading!!
Steve

Thanks!
What I wrote might read like a rant but I meant it more of a good thing.
To me it's was an adventure type trip and make my ownership of this car that much more memorable.
With the good weather right around the corner, it's gonna be great!

Your car looks really nice. Consider keeping it just as it is. Put the money into consumables, (good fluids, tires, etc.) and adjust the valves sometime soon. Watch the oil level closely for a while so you have a feel for how much oil it uses. Have fun!
