Default the journey from walking to an s2k

Hi everyone.. do you remember when the first s2k concept drawings started floating around in 96? well, i was a teeny toddler then, wasn't even a dj yet lol.. actually, didn't even think i'd ever spin but i remember the car. and loving it. and wanting it.. one day right? We all know what we always say: "one day, i'll buy this, or i'll have that..." one day.. loved being a kid : ) above and beyond, there are no limits.

i remember the first time i sat in a white s2k.. (do you guys? well obviously any s2k) it was just another day, passing by the dealership on santa monica blvd, but then it looked absolutely angelic under the showroom lights. Just couldn't resist the urge to "take a look see". I fell in love again, but sort of tragically.. i knew i couldn't afford it. Hell, i didn't even have a beater car. that was almost three years ago. Fortunantely i had strong legs, (and the motivation), so ability to walk, take the bus when i could afford, allowed me to save up enough of a down payment while working at a Honda dealership. And although it took four months, i purchased a ceritified 01 prelude sh last year in febuary.

then all these great things happend, tracked at laguna seca to thunderhill to reno fernly right back down to the willows, picked a fight with a mountainside on mulholland, timeless runs through malibu canyons when i lived there, then the idiots started driving into me during traffic.. then on valentines day this year, on my way to work, some lady looking at her navi screen decided to play bumper cars with me on the fwy. You know what I said? "ow! my s2k hurts! *while rubbing the back of my neck. Laughter is always better than anger. That was when things shifted again. funny how big things are always anniversaries, and just two weeks after my first promotion ever too..

so now I'm an Internet Sales Manager at honda, and dealer trades are one of my specialites. then the phone call came " i need your yellow s2k! PLEASE!" "good deal?" I asked, "why of course" came the response. He knew he had it, so i cherry picked his inventory and scored the white one back. Just, you know, for the shits and giggles. no intention whatsoever other than to sell it to the next lucky bastard that would probably break my heart one more time. *everytime i saw some kid buy one, it'd get me all riled up. i believe they should have a road course for buyers to pass in order to be qualified to own this car lol, same with the nsx*

anyway. so I stock the car in lovingly (like I do) its still in its original packaging when it arrives, so I smile, its the first time I've seen a white one in my entire time of employment there.. and I tried to forget about it.

then the damn porter parks the car guess where? right outside my office window. i still think he was intentionally being a punk. : )

then the voices in my head started whispering, and soon the keys ended up locked in my drawer. another week went by.. and someone tried to test drive it. I ran for the extra set and hid it, so thankfully they drove the red one. thats when i knew.

so I did it.

pulled the trigger. traded my h22a for the ap2. sold myself the car. I became the next lucky bastard, and i still need to take my road test. I was so happy.. *actually im still in shock cause I still expect my prelude to be outside* because i remember my dream from years ago.. from lusting, to walking in the heat, standing outside being a salesman, and now, I'm finally able to afford it. And if all of you could help in any way *best way to break it in, what to do what not to do* please, let me know. I refuse to be the 21 year old kid that crashes this one. especially not after i crashed the rx-7 on the track.. But hey, good present to myself a week before my birthday right? that's how I'm reasoning it.. i gave up the two pairs of shoes for the car..

thanks for reading my story.. like some else said.. it only took me 3 years... well, acheiving a dream thats ten years old... wonder where life will take me next..

Ya I drive it every other week - if the sun is shining. Otherwise it sits and rests wating for my call.
I'll stop by some time.
Right this minute I am sitting at the track in Indy.
Just watched the drivers have their final meeting with officials.
Later I'll be heading over to another track to watch some midgets and modified stock cars race.
Then in the morning it's back here for the Indy 500 race.
I love it they are all running Honda engines.
Talk at 'ya soon.
