Default Just Bought My S!

Hi all,

Just bought my S. It's a 2003 silverstone with black interior and 18,000 miles.

Last owner must have driven like a granny, the S02s have tons of tread left, the clutch engages very close to the floor, and the brake pads are quite thick.

I come from 3 1/2 years of driving Miatas, 1 1/2 years of that I was autocrossing every month, so I'm quite comfortable driving this car. It's just a funny shaped Miata with an H on the hood.

I have one question. What all comes with the car? I have:

2 black keys
2 key fobs
1 grey key (valet)
Owners Manual
Warranties booklet
Radio code card
Top boot

Am I missing anything? Is there supposed to be a nice case for the owners manual? I haven't checked my boot to make sure it works, need to read manual first. I should also check that all the tools are there, they all looked there, but I wouldn't know if I was missing anything.

The car also came with the OEM car cover, nice

Thanks for your help.

I believe it's a lot more than that. Faster, better handling, etc. Also, I think the average person would say it's better looking than the Miata, as well Just busting you balls...

Anyway, sounds like the package is all good. All you need is a hardtop and you're all set .

Good luck

sounds like you got everything. bought mine brand new, and thats all it came with. well, there was some type of consumer book for all states, which isnt really worth anything. all my stuff came in a big plastic bag. so there is no fancy case or anything. have fun with the car, i'm sure in time you'll see the reason why this car is better than the miata, other than looks. welcome to the site

Are your tools for jacking and removing the tire (and the spare tire) in the trunk? If so, sounds like you're good to go.

You should also have front bumper plugs for the screw holes where you mount a front license plate (many of us remove the front plate and insert the plugs).

Oh, and by the way, as new MY03 owner, be sure to watch the oil consumption by checking the oil at every fill-up and adding gradually, as needed. Our earlier engines burn oil normally.

Thanks for the welcome.

After reading the manual, it looks like I have all the tools too. I don't have the front plate plugs though. I haven't decided whether or not I'll run a front plate. My last miata didn't even come with a front plate from the previous owner. I had no problems with that, so I'll probably run without one if the plugs aren't too expensive.

I did a hot check a few minutes after I got home from work last night, the level was halfway between the full and add marks. The oil was quite clear, so I'm going to guess it's non-syn, and was changed recently. I don't know if I'll buy a quart of non-syn to top it up for a while, or just change the oil to synthetic when the level gets closer to add.
