Default Just bought an S2K, problems almost immediately.

Hello to all,

I just added an '07 silver-black/red S2000 to my collection of Honda/Acura's today. It seemed to be a wonderful car, then the transmission pops out of third gear two hours after I bought it. It's back at the dealership the same day for repairs two hours after I bought it. I thought the car was a little rough-looking considering it's such a late model example, I hope I didn't make an error in judgment buying this car. Thank God I had the presence of mind to purchase the HondaCare Warranty. This is the only Honda/Acura I've ever purchased that has had a serious problem like this. The car was purchased at Honda West in Las Vegas NV today.

Tom...who is not happy on his first day of S2K ownership.

Welcome. No error of judgement. Everything should be covered under warranty. Set aside the buyers remorse, stop worrying and start enjoying. You did the wise thing by purchasing the warranty. Not sure what you mean by rough looking.

Now that you have dived in, might as well start swimming. Its a good car and should keep you happy for a long time. Good luck to you

I'm just curious why you bought it considering it looked rough?

Thanks very much for the up-beat comments! I'll do exactly what you suggest. By rough looking I was referring to some aspects of the car, like a tear in the leather on the driver’s seat, tear in the leather on the driver's door panel, two curbed wheels, carpeting shot, drivers' door and hood need to be repainted. Just cosmetic stuff, but it's going to be pricy to correct it all. I just thought this was a bit much for a 2007.

I recently bought a 2002 Spa Yellow of a private buyer (June). Within 4 days it was at the dealership getting the clutch master and slave cylinder replaced, which took a week for them to get in. Long story short, its worth the wait...

Update: While the '07 was being repaired, an '05 NFR/black with 16,300 miles went up for sale at the dealership. I traded the silver '07 for the '05 plus a few thousand (the price difference between the two cars). I now have a virtually brand-new '05 S2K. I'm very glad the Honda dealership worked with me on this!
