Question Just took a test drive...

...AND I WAS AMAZED! I just got back from a dealer that I had booked a test drive with. My dad and I both took it for a spin, and I must say I was blown away. My dad was granny shifting the whole time and I told him to put his foot down a bit, but he still shifted at 5,000. After I took it, I gave it a nice hard beating up to 9,000 and I must say...that car is a ROCKET! I almost lost control once when the v-tec came in, I felt the back tires starting to come out a bit. I'm on the verge of buying an 07 and this just topped off my deal. I'm really looking forward to purchasing one within the next 2 weeks. This is truly one amazing car...

Good luck on your purchase. That tach does take a little getting used to.
This is a great site for insight and info on the S. Enjoy!

Thanks man, I've been here for a while, mostly picking up some ideas and I've recently been posting a lot, but the purchase date for me is coming up!

So let's see:

You dad was "granny shifting". Fast and the Furious style right? Let me guess, he should have been double clutching right?

You took a non-broken in car that you do not own to redline, risking damage to the engine; but you wouldn't care about that - it's someone else's problem now.

You claim to have taken an AP2 beyond it's electronically limited redline.

You almost lost control momentarily when the "v-tec" kicked in, not to mention that VTEC on AP2s is an incredibly smooth transition and not jarring. In fact it takes effort to get the back end loose.

Yeah, I'm sure you'll do real well with this car, kid.
