Knoxville s2000 Community
Whats up my fellow Vols,
I am currently residing in knoxville and new to the area. Don't know many people interested in cars here besides partying and causing havoc against campus pd lol I will picking up a nfr 01 s2000 this coming week from a guy about 3hrs out. The car currently has 122k but has been maintained well, or at least thats what the owner tells me. I have done some extensive research and have a list of what I need to be on the look out for. The guy is the second owner, but has only done the basic oil and differential change so I am a little hesitant on clutch buzz, tct, and for certain I know the ap1 intake valves will need to be changed to ap2 retainers. I have been through the car community before but never the Japanese domestic side of things. I was taught on a 92 vw gti platform and eventually into a b5 s4 and then other old european cars like mg's and spitfires, bmw. I am wondering if anyone is out there willing to crack open some beers and do some surgery on this thing as I couldn't bring any tools with me. I would be willing to throw some cash of course, as I see it would be a win situation in my eyes to learn about the car alittle more rather then throwing it to the shop.
Thanks!
