Good Luck with your purchase you'll love the 'S'...question...Why are you getting out of a speed3?? I was thinking of getting one as a daily driver (keeping my S of course) but I see a lot of low mileage Speed3 for sale....are there hidden issues with the car or is it a personal matter?

Most do prefer the AP2 for a DD...but you'd probably have to wait a couple years before they are in your price range.
I don't think I would trust the dealer selling the car to do the compression test. Most sellers will allow you to take it to an independent mechanic for inspection...if they don't then there is something to hide. I'm not sure what a compression test should cost...maybe $50-60?? Post up in the regional s2ki forum nearest where the car is being sold and ask for a shop recommendation that can do a pre-purchase inspection.
Polishing the plastic window is temporary and never ending. You'd be much happier to eventually convert to the glass. Personally, I did polish mine until I had to replace the top from a rip.

No, I totally dig the Speed3. It's super practical, roomy, plenty fast, and it looks nice (subjective of course). I want to sell it and get into a cheaper/older vehicle because I don't need a nice car to drive around just to and from work. I'm willing to make the sacrifice so we can use the extra money to pay off a loan to fortify a better future. If she doesn't sell, then it's fine because I still have a car I enjoy

Sorry to jack your thread with Speed3 questions, the 'S' you found looks great with those wheels, they are expensive and a great starting upgrade (as someone else mentioned)
No prob. Glad to answer the questions for you - ask all you want. Just keep in mind, I'm still fairly new to the Speed3 scene.
The torque steer is noticeable but not horrible IMO. I've been babying it since I've bought it, but the times I've driven it spiritly, I made sure both hands were on the wheel during the hard pulls. Sorry...no experience in snow since I'm in FL
I have read numerous members say that the Speed3 is more than capable of handling snow with the proper tires.

I had purchased an 01 silverstone with about the same amount of miles back in sept. and Ill be honest I was in the market for an S4 or an rx-7 and Im really happy I got the s2k..I test drove all 3 and the s2k was to me the most fun sure the others are turbo's but I figured I could just add one at some point. But I also daily drive mine and aside from the stiffer ride from my coilovers(my area doesnt have the best roads) its really not that bad and who doesnt love reving to 9k? haha
good luck with your decision sir
