Default Looking at getting an S2000, but...

After looking at the price of a used 2000-2003 S2000 I've been very thinking (non-stop, haha) about replacing my 2002 Subaru WRX with an S2000. I have always been a huge fan of the S2000 ever since its release and although its a great car I'm getting bored with driving my WRX.

A friend of mine (gkb on this board) has an 2007 AP2 in Imola Orange which is an absolutely beautiful car. I went for a ride with him in it yesterday, and well, its just awesome, the sound is just so great at WOT and the VTEC hits; closest thing out there to an F1.

The real problem is that I tried sitting in the drivers seat and, well, it was a bit cramped. I'm about 6'4" and 205lbs. My legs were all over the bottom of the wheel and with the top up my head was about 5mm away from rubbing the cloth. The driving position felt decently comfortable from that little 2 minute test, but I didn't get to drive it at all, so I couldn't get a really good feel for working the pedals or wheel. Plus I can't see anything above me, haha, stop lights would be impossible to see sitting back in the seat with the top up.

So, are any of you guys over 6'3" driving an S2000 with any reasonable level of comfort? I would be using this car as a daily driver and taking it on at least 5 road trips this summer ranging from 450 to 1200km in distance, so the car needs to be pretty comfortable.

Maybe there is a mod to lower the seat? Maybe some aftermarket bucket seats with brackets welded directly to the frame with no sliders?

My fiancee and I share our s2k and he is 6'4" 210lbs. The only difficulty is getting in and out but once youre in, he says the car just hugs him. He has plenty of head room, more than his previous Infinity actually.

He complains about the stop light situation too....always making me tell him when it turns green. But if you stop a little earlier, you'll be just fine.

I just asked him his opinion and he said its totally worth it and you'll be fine on the long road trips.

I say go for it!

I'm only 5' 8" and have trouble seeing the stoplights if I don't stop early.

I'm 6'2" 210 and the S2000 is pushing it. I barely fit b/c my thighs almost touch the bottom of the wheel. With that said I do fit even if its a little cramped. Head room is not an issue at all for me. Seeing street lights sometimes involves bending over if I'm the first or second car at the light.

even if its cramped you can always get an aftermarket seat with lower rails, then you will be fine for sure
