Default Looking for my first S2000!

Whats up everyone!

Well I have been looking for a Honda S2000 for some time now (about 2 months). But until recently, haven't found anything worth taking into consideration. Young with a decent job and going to college. All I need now is a cool ride thats relatively easy to maintain and good looker. Have a few friends with S2Ks and they made me fall in love with these cars. Finally narrowed the search to an AP1 yr 2000 red with only 22k miles (surprise lowest I have ever seen) and an AP2 2004 Black with 55k miles. Its hard to choose as I have always wanted a black one asa red is too flashy personally but they are beautiful. Any advice?

Also, I will definitely be taking care of this car but I have concerns that I am hoping some of you can help me with. I do not have a garage unfortunately so I am a bit worried about the sun damage that can happen to the car and top. Any advice for taking care of it and extending the life as long as possible or will it inevitably be damaged? Cost?

Another is that since I do not have a garage, are these cars stolen or broken into a lot? I know that some parts are stolen like the emblem and side lights but do you guys honestly think it would be worth the wrroy if I have it in the driveway of my home. I live in a decent area but who knows.

Thank you for the welcome, and I look forward to posting here and speaking with everyone!
And finally owning an S2K

Welcome! After seeing yellow ones, I wouldn't consider red as flashy. Red is good at hiding dirt. Black is almost impossible to keep looking clean.

I would be more worried about theft/vandalism than sun damage. I recommend getting a garage. See Keeping Your S2000 Safe at Night.

Check this link: www.schmittimports.com

He has an 2000 AP1 Formula Red, close to the 22K miles you posted.

Ha that's the exact one that I am looking at. I went to see that one and it's condition is unbelievable. Best one I have seen yet. And it's completely original. The only bad part is that the top is plastic instead of glass but that can be changed
