Default Looking for S2K!

Hey guys, I am fortunate to be a member of this site. I have read up on all of the diy and information. What's sad is, i dont have an S2K yet! This site is really helpful.

Well, I am currently selling my gsr to step up to a highly respectable car, with a tight budget in mind. There is a 2001 NFR S2000 with 79k for 10,900, and a 2001 spa yellow with 36k for 15,959. So i am going through anxiety, nervousness and jittering all over the place. This is the effect of wanting an S2K. is this normal? jk. Being that i am in this mindstate, it is easy for me to impulse purchase which is not smart. Which car would you choose, if both cars were in top condition?

The NFR is a good deal. Have a mechanic check it out to be sure.

Do not be impulsive. I recently purchased a my00 a month and a half ago. Knowing what I know now, I would have had a mechanic look at the car and tried to get the price reduced by the previous owner. Take your time and make a checklist of questions.

Yes the NFR is a really good deal. 79k is what keeps me 2nd guessing. I wish i knew a mechanic. I did print out the checklist from our FAQ.
zacs2k, i live in south cali.
Kameha, was there anything wrong with your s2k when you bought it?
I never bought a car with a mechanic, but the mechanic can point out problems and negotiate with the dealer right?

nah man the mechanic can really only tell you whats wrong with it and you take that information with you to the dealer. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic to go to in SoCal?

There was nothing serious but little things add up. The ABS light came on two days into owning the car. That cost 350$ for a sensor. I also had pronounced wind noise and had the latches tightened down (free). These minor things got me paranoid so I got a tune-up/diagnostic 130$. I suggest taking it to a dealer if you don't know a reputable mechanic. I was very impressed with Robinson Honda of Torrance. That FAQ is a great idea.

So i looked at the car. I found a 3 inch scuff mark on the rear bumper. I also found a ding on the passenger door. The clutch fluid was brownish, the engine sounded like it had no problems which idled for 15 mins, blasted the a/c then to heater with no probs. Interior was all good. Paint was ok, has small swirls, wax might help a little. The gears went in good at a dead stop on a cold transmission. Didn't test drive it yet. Do you think this is still a good deal? i was about to jump on it but felt like it was on impulse.
