From Miata to S2000 - 2007 GPW
I've been a Miata guy in the past and had fun modding them for style and suspension, no engine work. I got bored and sold them a few years ago but recently decided I needed another roadster for RPM therapy and wanted to upgrade to an S2000. This weekend I picked up a GPW 2007 with the red/black interior. The car has some modified suspension parts and is obviously a little lower than stock. It's very firm but rides really well until the suspension hits it's limits. Then you better be hanging on. Other than that it seems pretty stock, other than a carbon fiber radiator panel to direct the air. I'm not convinced it does anything meaningful and may take it off. The wheel wells have been rolled so it was an enthusiast's car but well taken care of with a spotless CarFax.
I haven't had time to pull the wheels off to look at the springs and shocks. I may end up buying some used OEM springs just to get the ride height up a little higher. I live in the High Desert and the roads can be a little punishing. My autocross days are over so I don't need anything special and little more comfort might be nice. I'm not 100% convinced of that yet. I'd like to find someone knowledgeable up here who can help me check it out and tell me what I've got so I can decide what to do.
Overall, I love the car. It's not too different from my last modded Miata other than the power, especially above 6000 RPMs. I was a bit concerned about the whole racer image and idiots wanting to challenge me. The first night I had it, I happened to drive through a known racer hangout parking lot and had a Focus pass me chirping his tires though the parking lot. I just rolled my eyes and ignored him.

Welcome aboard!
Once you figure out what suspension you have, I bet it won't be too hard to find someone willing to trade you for their stock suspension. Looks like you're already headed in the right direction.

Welcome. GPW is the best color, IMO. I also came from a miata to the S I drove my miata for 6 years (99) Had it painted and about every part of the car had been replaced with upgrades or just maintenance. I wanted the S but I was young and school didn't pay muc. My brother totaled it out so I finally got the car I originally wanted. They are very similar expect stock for stock power that is.
Welcome I have dropped my car on Espelir springs with the stock shocks and just have the stocks springs at home so if you find out what your setup is let me know and maybe we can work something out. O and by the way POST PICTURES!!!!! lol I love white AP2's

Okay, I cleared out the garage and took my wheels off to check out the suspension. I'm guessing these are stock struts because I didn't see any manufacturer information on them. Part numbers 51602-S2A-A080-M1 in front and 52620-S2A-A070-M1 in rear.
Anyone know what these blue springs are?

Rear

Thanks for all the help.
