Default My first buy! And its a AP1...

Hi everyone I am a new owner from Hong Kong, and I have purchased this 2000 Silver Stone AP1 back on 19th October 2011.

I was actually looking at a 1999 British Racing Green Miata, but the seller backed out the deal at the last minute after the test drive. I wasn't so happy with at that moment, so the search continues... and just so happened that a really clean bone stock AP1 was listed for sale. So called up the seller and met up with up... and basically bought the car at first site without test drive!

Basically the car was stock except it had a crappy stereo system, which had a flip up headunit installed that gets stuck everytime I turned on the car, aftermarket speakers that sounded worse than stock, and a weak subwoofer that does nothing... So I ripped out the old sound system and put in a new Pioneer headunit with Modifry DCI and stock speakers.

Finding a very clean oem ap1 is like finding a piece of hay in a needlestack these days.

I had to 'spruce up' a few things after finding my 01.

It's a good day to be an s2k owner.

Also all fluids were flushed with new Pakelo 5w40 and Honda MTF3. Along with new valve cover gasket and VTEC Controller gasket, since they were leaking badly. And of course with my friends help we also did a valve adjustment, which caused a big problem later... a nut came loose after a short drive, and we had to fish out the nut with magnetic rods from the oil pan.

In March the suspension started to squeak, so I have replaced the stock suspension with the BC Racing BR Coilover with 10kg / 10kg spring rates.

Then recently I spotted a set of Prodrive GC-07c on auctions.yahoo.co.jp and won the bid. After 1.5 month it finally arrived from Japan and I refinished them with Gunmetal color and slapped on new Bridgestone RE-11 215/245
