Default My New S2000 Track Toy

Hello everyone, long time lurker - finally able to say I am a happy S2000 owner! I recently purchased this '01 AP1 from fellow member @uncleben to replace my 996 as the full-time track toy and fun car. Still have the 996, it has been demoted to street-only duty. I've progressed to smaller and smaller cars on track through the years (from a '15 Mustang GT, 996, and now this AP1) as my time on track has increased and I must say I think this is the sweet spot. Looking forward to learning from you guys, especially in the track-specific threads. This car started life in California and made its way to the east coast over time. It handled the 1,200 mile drive home to Florida from Arkansas with zero issues and is ready to fit into its new home. To handle the Florida summer heat, it'll need some new things including: Larger radiator core, oil temp thermostat, brake cooling ducts, and new stainless brake lines (maintenance item).. I also am looking for a single exit exhaust and a non-oem hardtop. Besides, that, she's ready to go! More to come..

I'm excited about what you're going to do with it. Will be jealously following along!

Nice car man. I'd highly recommend taking it out as is (minus those SS lines) and see where she lands to start. These cars, pretty much more than any other, have a high level of personal preference due to their "playful" nature. IMO you should drive it without aero to start just because that's an experience in of itself....but i'm not a doctor so.

Ha. It's an extremely neutral handling setup, so it should be good to go as-is. Unless he just *wants* to get sideways! :-)
