Need advice on a 05 GPW
Hello, new to the page. For the last 2 weeks I've been trying to buy an s2000. My first one it was an 05 Rio Yellow with 39k miles and got outbid by 2k dollars, car was sold at $20k. The second car was an 05 silverstone with 18k miles for $24k, I was going to purchase it but being out of state someone beat me by a day and by 1k dollars. Now I'm looking at another 05 GPW with 69k miles for $20k, car is out of state and about 5 hr drive. Tan interior and looks in good condition, one previous owner. Any suggestions or ideas? does it seem fair? or should I fight the price?
Thanks!

I've been on the same boat, trying to get good deals by negotiating prices down of good condition, low mileage S2000's. But I lost them all. So the next one that popped up, I paid asking price without any hesitation. I suggest you do the same if you really want the car. Or you'll keep regretting losing cars you like by getting outbid.

Don't give up. Still lots of excellent cars available. But fixating on exterior and interior colors, and specific model year severely limits your market. The car doesn't care or perform differently. If I limited my search to an '08 Chicane Silver car I'd still be looking.
My more realistic priority list didn't have color on it. Was headed by '06 or later (DBW allowing 3600rpm VTEC) followed by pure stock and the usual condition and mileage requirements. But as close as "pure stock" was to the top of the list I bought a car with aftermarket wheels knowing I could replace them with "correct" wheels. Since color was not on the priority list, the car is (of course) Silverstone although it was "rare" in 2006.
I also limited my search to local areas (2 hour radius).
