Need Advice
Hey all,
Fairly new to this forum. Just purchased an 2004 S2000 last month and I'm having a major issue transferring the car. Purchased the car in Oklahoma and when I went to transfer the car where I live in (Kentucky) the clerk noticed the mileage on the Oklahoma title 578,000 instead of 57,000 when the previous owner bought the car. Obviously this is a huge error. I'm trying to get the issue corrected by Oklahoma Tax Commission and the previous owner but if I can't Kentucky is going to make me get a title that's considered "Not Actual Mileage" I'm trying my hardest to avoid this as I do not want to to hurt the value of the car if I decide to sell this is the future. Basically , my question is what would you all do? Does a not actual mileage title really de value this car where it is not worth anything? My fiance and I planned to sell the car in a year or two when we decide to have kids so I just don't want to be stuck with the car all because of a huge error. The sad thing about all of this is it has slipped through many eyes and I'm not really sure how. Also all the Vin numbers match up and even the Oklahoma Tax Commission lady stated that this appears to be a mistake but it's just getting a hold of everybody to get this corrected. Any insight on this would be very helpful as I'm stressing over this situation. Thanks!
