I picked this up for $5,000 from a guy who could no longer afford to pay on it.

Mechanically sound.... has a few minor dings and a couple spots that need some paint.

Nothing major though...just needs a good detailing as it has been sitting for almost a year. It has 88k on it and practically stock with just a cai / test pipe / invidia cat back.

The exhaust set up is ridiculously loud... hopefully I can find a cat local to put back on it.

The soft top window has a hole in it... I've heard you can replace just that piece...I'll have to research it more.

The ABS light is on.... I'll have to investigate that further.
The CEL is on... I'm thinking due to the test pipe... or maybe the 02 sensor is jacked now?
Maint. Required light just tripped on as well.. I'm guessing thats due to a certain mileage. I'll have to look into seeing how to reset that.

It drives straight as an arrow... feels like I'm on rails. Accelerates smoothly..

It has an aftermarket clutch in it that I don't really like.. it's ON/OFF pretty much. Seems a little extreme for a lightly modified S2000. Maybe I'll find someone with a stocker that wants to switch.

The eye lids are coming off and I'm going to buff the headlights in hopes to restore them.

It also has some aftermarket fenders that I am not a fan of....but seems like everything is very minor.

I can't complain for the price.




I'll take real pictures with the Canon later... I just got in and was excited to introduce myself.

 

Sounds like a killer deal, congrats. Invidia is one of the loudest exhaust out there for the car, putting the cat back on won't give you much relief. However, demand for them is good so you should be able to either sale or trade. If not properly cared for, the tops often develop holes (heck, they sometimes do even if cared for). Replacing is neither easy nor inexpensive - search around and you will find plenty of info on this topic. CEL sounds like test-pipe related - again search around, as there is a sticky on CEL codes. Welcome to the site.

I didnt have time to take the eye lids / buff the headlights yet... I was too busy enjoying the car.

I'd imagine the cat will quiet it down A LOT... it's RIDICULOUSLY loud right now.. I think if I go wot cops from other towns can hear me.

 

Good deal...a few things:

-I agree with you on the eyelids, please take them off.

-Exhausts that are not highly resonated like Invidia really aren't worth having to live with every day unless you're going FI...which I assume you're not. I would get a different setup competely.

-You need a little bit more than detailing if you're missing paint, and if you don't like the fenders that much either try and trade or just buy OEM fenders.

-Make sure he didn't just give you a car that's worth nothing because it has an incredible amount of problems. A few thrown codes are nothing, but trust me, get this car checked out. By someone who knows what they're doing.
