I've been debating about picking up a 2007 S2000, so I e-mailed all the Chicagoland dealers close to me.

So far the best price was $29,420 + TTL. The next best was $29,433 + TTL.

So far the best quotes I've gotten are these two:

#1

1st Honda in Simi Valley, California

INTERNET PRICE QUOTE
on
2007 Honda S2000
stk# 470187
MSRP $34845
INTERNET PRICE $28915*
(This quote includes $595 destination charge)

#2

I will match the Price and I have the White color in stock.
I look forward to hearing from you.

It's funny now the price varies so much and seems to have no pattern with the regions of the country. One would almost expect a convertible in Chicago to not be a hot seller and fetch a lower price, but that cheap in Cali?

My dealership "had money" (as they put it) from a Dealer Cash Back incentive from Honda. I guess they were able to put me 1000 under invoice and still keep some for themselves. My car was also mfg in Jan 07, and I just purchased it in May. Not sure how long my dealer had it.

I agree -- if there's a pattern here I don't see it (other than that you can get one for well below MSRP). I have gotten Crown Honda in Durham, NC down to $30,000 plus TTL, which comes to $31,421 total. I might be able to whittle them down a bit more, but I'm pretty happy with the result so I think I'm going to go with it. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread for the useful information. I wonder how much impact the internet (and the leveling of the information playing field) has had on dealers' bottom lines.

Is this a good deal?

$28915
$55 doc fee
$389 vehicle theft registration
$2422.12 sales tax
$267 dmv
$8.75 state tire fee
=$32056.87

- $28,915 is a good price
- Doc Fee you could ask them to drop, but not likely to happen.
- Vehicle Theft Registration - dunno about this; sounds like fluff.
- Sales Tax is what it is. If you trade in, or put cash down you will reduce your taxable amount.
- DMV sounds like another state-mandated fee you won't get out of.
- State tire fee is pretty much nationwide and you won't get out of it.

So, the only one you will likely get much out of is the Vehicle Theft Registration a $389 if you can get them to drop it. It maybe a state-mandated thing where you live. I wouldn't walk away from that deal over $389 though.

All u ppl asking if anything under $30k (before TTL) is a good price, need to just go and buy the car...it's not going to get any lower than that. I got mine for $31.3k before TTL in the middle of March...and that was AFTER working for 3 months with all the dealers in my area. I'm located in San Diego, California.

if u're straddling the fence based on a couple hundred bux with the price already under $30k...u just need to go for it. A couple hundred will give or take like $3 to your monthly payment...not worth all the going back and forth with the dealer.

I am in sales at a Honda dealer in Tampa . Under invoice deals are what I am known for . Expect pricing to be at or about 29k +++. This is valid until the dealer cash goes away on the S on 6-1-07
