New 2004 Silverstone Owner
Hello All,
I have been a long-time Miata owner and have always admired the S2000. The winter doldrums here in Illinois have already set in, so I just signed the paperwork on a 04 SSM S2000.
One owner car, 24k miles, all stock except for clear shield on front of car.
The owner wouldn't take it out until it stopped raining(never seen rain or snow), so it wasn't until today that I got to see the car.
I can't wait to see how it compares to a Miata

Got her home last night. The weather here is really starting to turn and they were talking snow, so I picked it up a few days earlier then I had planned.
The owner told me that he had never driven it in the rain since new. I guess I am already "abusing" the car!
On a side note, are the original tires really hard in cold weather? I got into the pedal on the way home, and it broke the rear end loose at 65 mph(3rd gear). The other possibility is that the original tires are just hard from age?
