New 2007 S2k owner! SO PSYCHED!
!!!!! The dream has become a reality for me !!!!
Hmm, a little about myself and the cars I've previously owned:
When I was 16, I knew I wanted to get a cool first car...I looked at civics and all those import FWD cars, but something about the S13 240sx drew me to it...it was the fact that it was RWD and could be modded into a badass car, so I picked one up when all my friends were getting FWD's. I remember that car drove awesome, and RWD felt so right at the time... Mind you it was my first car so I modded it (KTS coilovers, 5 lug, 300zx brakes, sways, TC rods, RUCA's and all that good suspension and brake stuff...wanted to turbo the KA but brakes and suspension first) but ended up crashing that sucker like 3 times and killing the body, and it was pretty much the beginning of the end of modding the car for me and eventually becoming disinterested in it...
Killing the body of that car made me realize mods on a beat up car was not worth it, for me at least.. So I picked up a FWD Mitsu Diamante for DD for the last two years , and drove that for a while, and was pretty content with it. I've always wanted something a little newer with a warranty or relatively new, since I've been driving older cars since I started driving, so I looked at all the hot cars that everyone looks at these days...you know- 350z, evo, wrx, sti, e36 m3, s4, and the likes... and was really thinking about getting an e36 someday.
I always had a soft spot for the s2000 ever since it came out, but couldn't imagine getting a convertible for some reason. But in the last year or so, the s2000 has grown on me a lot...it's got everything you need in it in a sophisticated and awesome package and nothing you don't...a true drivers car- and i respected that about it... Me being only 20 right now (21 in december
) I gave the s2k serious thought because at my age- single, no kids/marriage and no need for practicality, it was a no-brainer...
I started looking around for 04's first, then 05's, and then wanted 06's for VSA in the last month LOL and the parents said they found the color I want and 2007!!! at a dealership not too far from Hamilton, NJ... Burns Honda in Marlton to be exact. So I went there today with the parents, test drove and worked the numbers for a while...ended up with 30,500 with lojack and wheel locks for a new 07...We ended up picking it up today after a few hours at the dealership and i'm fookin ecstatic haha It hasn't even fully sunken in that I own an 07 s2000 dream car when I didn't even think I would any time soon... But it's real, and I'm psyched!!!
I know this is a tight knit community and it feels good to know I can come on this site and get support from enthuiasts and people willing to help a fellow stook owner out! So yeah, just wanted to say hi, and formally introduce myself now that I'm an official owner

Congratulations on the purchase... I can sense the excitement. Take it easy until you log those first 600 miles; then
all you want! Enjoy. Oh!, don't forget to spend some quality time with that users manual

It's Silverstone with black interior, the best color combo : ) and exactly what I wanted...they only have one 07 rio yellow left at the dealership, then no more 07's after that. I'll try to take some pics tonight of it...but I plan on keeping it stock for a while, maybe just a subwoofer or new headunit. I'm trying to keep it as civil as possible for the first 600, but I already hit VTEC yesterday once in second gear hahaha...no more though, and I read every brochure and whatnot already so it's all goody!
on a side note, should i wait till 3,000 for the first oil change or should I do it earlier? And tire rotations- I just rotate side to side right? Def not front to back lol

Congrats on the new car, you're going to love it. As for your questions, wait till 7k for the first oil change ( i believe that is what honda states). From the factory, your oil contains additives that assist in engine break in and whatnot, premature changing could result in leaks and other problems. Also, tire rotations, that depends on your alignment, but i believe that with the earlier s2000s you could swap them side to side to squeeze a few thousand more miles out of the tires, being that they were set up to have the insides wear faster. A bit of advice too, if you have to get it serviced, try to stay away from any dealership, but especially Burns. I am not sure if its an isolated incident, but i got shafted when i brought my s there for a diagnostic on the A/C system. Just keep an eye out, enjoy your new ride, and dont mess with the traction control till you get used to how the s handles, we've seen way too many wrecked because the rear stepped out on a turn

hmmm i guess i gotta read the manual again cuz I missed the part about 7k for the first oil change... I'm an auto technician at the moment so i'll be doing alot of the service for it, but i'm going back to school most likely for mechanical engineering....Princeton Honda interviews me on Tuesday and Toyota on Monday for tech jobs cuz i work at Chrysler right now and was in the CAP college program for it but it blowwws lol , But for warranty, i'll be going to Princeton Honda fasho!!! Should be interesting though, next week...a lot goin on for me right now.
