NEW AP1 OWNER. Few Quick ?s
Hello all,
I just brought home a 2000 S2000 with 43k miles in silver a few weeks ago.
Loving the car and have always liked the body style in general.
1. Does the 2000 model year have an input for a cd changer in the headunit? Mine does not have a cd changer and I would like to add ipod controls if that port is available.
2. After warm start up, the idle drops very low and then comes back up to normal. A few searches makes me think this is normal.
3. The "clutch buzz" while decelerating in any gear is very noticeable and can cause a hum/vibration. I just want to confirm this will not cause any harm to the car and is fine to keep driving without replacing anything. I saw a TSB for what I assume is my concern.
Look forward to following you guys and your mods!

1-- I'm not sure if it has an input for a cd changer (thought the OEM stereo has a CD player), but I have the OEM stereo/cd player and have a cable (USB or something along those lines) that allows me to hook the IPOD up to the stereo. In turn, I just go to CD mode and then select "6", and it starts playing my Ipod songs. As far as I know, the only way I can scroll through my IPOD songs is to use the << and >> arrows, which would normally change the song selection. My setup isn't very user friendly, but that's just another excuse for me to get an aftermarket deck.
2. I'm not sure about this one, but perhaps someone more mechanically/s2000 savvy or has had a similar occurrence can give you a better answer.
3. I have had clutch buzz ever since I purchased mine--(very, very common with the early AP1s), but it is worse for me in 1st and 2nd gear (the higher the gear and the higher RPM I'm in, the less likely for it to happen). It seems to almost be a constant when I'm in second gear, at ~2,000 rpm for example, and especially when I am downshifting from third to second and letting off the clutch pedal. The clutch buzz won't physically harm anything, so don't worry about this too much. I wouldn't replace the clutch/flywheel until it actually starts slipping, then you might want to look into if there is a way of going about it that can minimize clutch buzz.

1. Yes, there will is a cd changer interface on the back of the radio.
2. This can be normal with any car, how low is low?
3. No physical damage has been reported from the clutch buzz. It can be fixed. Mine was fixed 13 years ago and has never returned.

I'd love to be clutch buzz free.

They did fix it temporarily. But the clutch buzz came back. The only thing they did was put the updated clutch disc in it from the TSB. That was at about 18k miles. I've got 73k on it now.
