Default New AP2 Owner from Cali

Hi everyone! Just moved to northern California for a job. Said goodbye to my 2004 Honda Accord and got myself an AP2. It's 2006 Berlina Black with Black interior and around 55k miles on the beauty. Pretty much stock except for a K&N intake

Looking forward to learning more about the car as well as meeting all you folks. Thanks for having me

Here's a quick shot of her on the first day (the car was like a quarter of an inch off from the curb. took me a bit before I got used to parking it cuz of the longer nose )

Beautiful car! But ain't they all? Love black. Other peoples black cars (mine is "no-wash needed this week" Silver).

Yep, the nose is much longer than it seems! I've managed to not quite hit my '06 nose (new to me last July).

How's your roof fabric? Mine was scratching/wearing on the inside over the passenger shoulder from rough steel in the top frame. There are notes in the FAQs on this. After smoothing out the little sharp thing on the frame I put a patch on the inside of the fabric. No scratches or wear on the patch I can see.

Also check the top elastics that pull one of the mid bars back as you drop the top. These all get limp and the top won't fold properly. FAQs again. Replacement (non-OEM) takes 10 minutes to fix.

Go thru the maintenance area of the FAQ. I bought mine from a big Honda dealer who did all the stuff like change the brake fluid (an every 3-year requirement) etc. Fresh oil and filter days before I bought t. I wasn't sure about the transmission and differential fluids so I changed them myself just to be sure.

If you're shopping for tires the Bridgestone RE-11A tires are wonderful.

Enjoy!

Wow thanks! Will keep all this in mind. I actually found one tiny tear on my softtop yesterday(width of a toothpick though, and small enough that it won't leak in the chance of rain). Do you happen to know any temporary fix for such a small tear?

Thanks again!

Congrats on a great looking AP2. Got mine abt 2 years ago (a 04 AP@) that I found in Houston. You will have lots of fun with your car. Take care and drive safe;

Beautiful car! I've read some boost options for these cars and they can handle a lot of power with stock internals.
