Default New to the Community

Hey all! I'm brand new to the community and will be picking up my first S2K this coming Saturday. The car is an 07' with 44k miles, was such a steal, I knew I had to get it. Only thing that I noticed that raised a concern was that the VSA light was lit on, not blinking. I tried to turn it off with the "VSA off" button but that wasn't working. Was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem. I will gladly uploads some photos this weekend once the car has been received. Thanks again all, glad to join this community!

Welcome to the forums! Someone here with a newer model should be able to help you out. I have an 04 so I don't have that system.

Ironically the VSA Off switch turns the red VSA warning indicator ON. VSA defaults to ON (warning indicator OFF) on startup. Since VSA and anti-lock brakes are part of the same system things like wrong or wildly different tire sizes can upset both of them. A check for codes is recommended.

Type this into Google search -- or just copy and paste it.. (In my experience this works better than the forum search function. Note I had this happen to me years ago when I turned the steering wheel lock to lock a couple of times when all 4 wheels were off the ground and resetting the module cured it.)

VSA codes may not come up when scanning with an OBD2 scanner. My shop manual is down at the shop so cannot check quickly there. For example, ABS codes will not show up under OBD2, you either have to use a different tool or do the jumper method to flash the codes out via the light. Search on the forum here to see if you can find more on that.

The car came with a K&N cone filter, but it looks like OEM airbox, should I change the filter to OEM too or keep using the cone? Not sure of the pros and cons.
