Congrats to both of you. My very first car was a 1982 Ford EXP - about the only thing it had in common with the S was being a 2-seater. My advice to you is the same as any first-time s2000 owner - be careful, especially in the wet on OEM tires. And welcome.

welcome... and congratulations on your car. Younger owners tend to get roughed up on these forums, but your respectful approach towards ownership will keep you well.

By the way, check out the local regional S2ki club on this site. we have a lot of owner meet and greets, group rides, dinners, karting, etc:

Hop on over the to Delaware Valley Regional forum and introduce yourself. Its a great group of welcoming owners.

thanks for all the welcoming everyone.

about the wet OEM tires - my s2k has bridgestone tires (not sure what model) which seem pretty decent about braking and not slipping in the rain, but i did feel the back end wanting to slip out coming around a turn doing about 20 one rainy day, so i slowed it down a little for the rest of that day.

my sister is out of the country and her car is here (nissan maxima), so i try to make it my winter/foul weather beater when the weather is too harsh to want to drive the S. but she is coming back in a few weeks, which was the reason for the purchase of the S2000. so i'm not sure whether to be happy or sad?

Welcome and congrats

…..and if you get a speeding ticket, you’re grounded.

Edit: If this is your daily driver you’ll probably have to replace the oem summer tires.
