Default New to the forum and the chassis

Ok so I am new to S2000's and to this forum! I just bought my first s2000 4 days ago. 2004 AP2 Silver color? It's completely stock and was previously owned by an old man that just enjoyed slow drives with the top down. I've owned several performance cars. Fully built 09 STi, fully built 20V AE86 hatch, 78Datsun 280z and 71 Datsun 510. I've always wanted to experience this chassis... So here we go! Looking forward to getting some tips and pointer from you guys. I like to autocross several times per year with a handful of track days. Thanks for the ad!

Autocross and track days for fun are all the car is capable of without serious modification to be competitive against the guys who take this too seriously and have lots of money to spend to shave 1/2 second of their times. Trailered cars with several sets of tires is serious. Street handling performance in stock form is almost without peer against non-specifically prepared card, though, and is lots of fun with good tires.

Good tires should be your first purchase. Bridgestone RE-11A tires were the darlings the past couple of years and I love them on my car. Bridgestone replaced them with the RE-71R for about the same price. You should be able to daily drive and autocross these tires nicely.

Serious modification (time and money) of the car is required for winning performance where times are separated by a second or two and (in my opinion) is not cost effective. We're talking suspension and alignment tweaks at a minimum. Cheap trophies are cheap trophies. Good times are the result of good drivers. Unlike golf where we all know if we just had "that set" of clubs we'd be winners. It's us, not the car.

Thanks all. I have my first autocross in this car on the 4th and 5th of July. Really excited to see how I do. Ill take some video with the go pro and post it here.

I've already been doing some research on front swaybar, coilovers and CBE.

I just bought the Tanabe Medalion Touring and it should be here soon. I don't plan on doing test pipe or headers or intake or coils or anything until I can get decent in b street. B street allows me to get an aftermarket front swaybar and a Catback though. I have the exhaust on the way but now I need some advice on a budget front swaybar. Any suggestions? I can already tell I would like an aftermarket FSB
