Hey everyone, some of you might recognize me from ft86club and spyderchat. I'm 99% set on getting an AP1 S2000 and thought it's time I joined after lurking for a while.

Back in California I had a stock MR2 Spyder which was hopelessly impractical, then an FR-S which was too boring, then a 2ZZ swapped MR2 Spyder (which was really loud and fast, and needed constant fixing) that I crashed at Laguna Seca because my driving skills are terrible. I moved to NYC in 2018 and have been getting the car itch like crazy, but I feel like I should be busy hustling instead of fixing/modding old s*** cars so S2000 fits the bill, because for what it is, it's nearly perfect from the factory, and the ROI on mods is really poor. I know I'm crazy for wanting a car here, but I do live across the Hudson in NJ to escape NYC income tax, and we have slightly more parking options over here.

It's going to be really weird just having a car and enjoying it as it is instead of dreaming of ways to burn money on it...I'm hunting on the internet for a good deal and will try to reverse any mods and bring it to a nice clean stock state for resale value.

 

Welcome. I own a stock ap1. Only mod is the Alpine headunit and underdash amp. Its a wonderful car as is. No plans to mod. I just try to do a good job maintaining it.
