Default New guy from Texas. Finally an s2000 owner

Hey guys. I have been a lurker on the forum for a few weeks now and last weekend I bought a black on black 02 and decided now is the time to join and say hello. I've only had the car a week but I have already put some ASA ar1's on it and am doing some minor audio upgrades. Aside from that I plan to leave the car alone as it will be my new daily driver. I have owned many cars ranging from Corvettes to rx7s, miatas and even a Solstice for about 2 months and this car is by far the best driving one out of all of them. I was blown away at how smooth and tight these cars actually are. The level of refinement and raw sports car feel is just right with these cars to me. My vettes were too blah and my miata's and that solstice were too rough around the edges. This car is just right. Anyhow I dont have any pics yet as its been raining since i got the car, but I will post some up as soon as weather will allow and I can give it a much needed bath. Anyways I just wanted to say hello guys and I will look foward to hanging out here. -Karson

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase. Keep an eye on that oil level, early MY's like 02/03 consume quite a bit; but that's normal. Black is a sharp color if kept clean... stop by the wash & wax forum for all those detailing tips. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=15

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yea I checked that detailing section out pretty good. I got up this morning and washed it ( was 41 degrees! ) and today was the first real time for me to inspect my paint. Overall its very good but I can tell someone used a buffer on it and didnt really know what they were doing. I was going to do the zaino process on it but after seeing the imperfections, I am wondering if zaino will remove them or magnify them. I also already got a batch of honda oil filters for it and will probably give it a fresh diet of mobile one next weekend. I drove it a week and checked it and the level hadnt changes so hopefully all is well there. Anyhow I snapped some pics of it after giving it a freezing cold bath. I live just south of Waco right off I-35 so I pretty close to Austin. I found this car in Dallas and got a great deal on it so I am very happy. Plus the wheels made it look alot better. The previous owner had managed to put curb rash on 2 of the factory wheels so I decided to go ahead and give myself a nice christmas present.
