First off let me introduce myself. My name is Jason and I've been a Tiburon owner since 2006, first with a 2000 and a 2008. I am finally at the point in my life, where I can afford an S2000 and the S2000 fits my needs perfectly. I don't want to have to drive people around and the only thing I need to haul is my golf bag. I've always wanted a "fast car" since I purchased my 08' Tiburon that I was pushed into because of its 5965miles and 14k price tag. Due to my financial advisor aka dad. Now that I have graduated college I have come to the realization that its MY money and I'll spend it how I please I'm going to buy my dream car. So I stumbled apon a 2003 S2000 within my price range. I have been reading some threads about buying an modified S2000 and that it's a bad idea. The one I'm looking at has an Injen intake (What it looks like it says on the picture, skunk2 exhaust, carbon fiber trunk and hood and 19" wheels. Other than that it's stock (Hopefully). I am buying it from a dealer, it has 69k miles on it, clean carfax, clean title, soft top in fantasic condition as well as the paint and it's priced just below 13k. The car is gorgeous and I can't describe how much I want it. I know there is no reason to rush into buying a car but this one I just can't pass up. It's going to hard to talk me out of it and believe me my dad has tried, but if I do buy it what should I be looking for problem wise especially since it's not stock. I'm tyring to buy it this Tuesday if my buyer of my Tiburon bites. Any input or information would be appreciated. Thank you.
Post a link to the dealer's website so others can see the car, that is, if you're wanting everyone's opinion on it.
Personally, with it having a carbon fiber hood and trunk, and if it truly does have 19" wheels, I wouldn't buy it.
In my opinion, buying these cars with an intake and exhaust is a plus because they're expensive and do not yield much in performance gains.
If it was me and my money, I would pass on this car and keep searching for one that doesn't have such large wheels on it (19" wheels on an S2000 are uncommon) and doesn't have a carbon hood and trunk.

Agree with everything.

Here's the link to the car. http://www.ddfracing.com/inventory/v...34/-Orlando-FL. There's also a 2001 link here http://m.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal...earchType=used
The yellow one has been painted since the engine bay is black (original color). The modifications aren't exactly tasteful but maybe you could sell them off and revert it back to stock. You could probably make some money back.
The second one also has rims that are too big, but it's much closer to stock. The paint looks like it's turning pink in some pics though. Might be the lighting.
I'm not feeling either but if you're dead set on getting an S now then just check them out and look into maintenance history and see which one drives better. They have reasonable mileage on them at least.
Also the 2003 will have a glass rear window instead of plastic and upgraded oil banjo bolts in the engine. Also leather centre console instead of carpet. You can upgrade an '01 with these things. Just something to consider.

I plan on getting new wheels anyways since I don't like the enkeis. The eyelines are going to go too. I would have planned on the cf hood and trunk exhaust and intake so that will save me money in the long run. When I go to test drive and the car drives runs and handles great I would like to buy it.

and welcome....
