New member. 2001 S2k
Hello. Name is Chris. Live in northern virginia. I have owned my s2k for about a year. But i finally decided to post on this forum. Bought my 2001 silverstone S2k for $10.500 a year ago with 79.xxx miles on it (currently 93.xxx). Car was in great shape except for two small tears on both sides of the top. Which are now about 4 inches long and i have covered the holes with gorilla tape and superglue. Looks extremely ghetto and cheap. I cannot afford a new top and/or hardtop. Unfortunately. And it is extremely noisy because of the tears
Anyways. About a month after i bought my s2k i wrecked it. Winter season and bald tires and limited hours behind the wheel of the car. Had to replace front bumper. Headlight assemblys. radiator and a bunch of other stuff. The total repair cost was $6.476. Luckily my insurance company covered the cost and i only had to pay for the deductable.
Took about month and a half for the repairs. Was driving around in a HHS rental car for that whole time. When the repairs was done and i was told to pick my vehicle up from the shop the clutch was totally fried. The car would not even move. (I had driven the car to the shop after the accident, and the clutch was fine). They said they would inspect it and towed it to the local honda dealer. after the diagnose i was told it was a 10 year old clutch and it was regular wear and tear so insurance or the repair shop would NOT cover the expenses. The total for a new clutch and labor was $1.800. At the time i only had 40 dollars in my account.
So i had to fight with them for about a month. Did not have a car and my mom had to pick me up and drop me off at work. So this comes out to about 3 months without my s2k. i finally convinced my insurance company that someone had taken my car out for a joyride and fried my clutch. They agreed to pay 1.300 for the new clutch. I paid the rest.
Been driving the s2k every day ever since i got the car back. Loving every second of it. Only thing is the ghetto softtop i have on the car.
