hey guys, whats going on? i decided to join a little bit ago because my buddy just got an s2000, and i absolutely love every part of it. however, me being 18, insurance will be higher than say, someone who is 26. i am really interested in getting an s, but insurance will more than likely be a little pricey. my question to you guys as a community is, who are the young guys on here, and how old are you and what is your insurance like? Thanks guys, I really enjoy reading around the forums so far.

Also, some other choices of cars (for under 17k or so) are:

Welcome aboard! I got my S2000 when I was 20. My insurance per month was about $225. I had multiple car discount and good student discount at the time. Now being 23 my insurance is about $185 per month.

Good luck with your decision!

^Thanks man, thats not too bad of a rate for 20. Also guys, being 18, most people would think purchasing a car for anywhere from 14-20k is a lot of money. But they way i see it, if youre making the money, and youd be making payments regardless, im willing to make payments that are for a longer period of time and for a little bit of extra money in turn for a car i really love to own. Am i being nieve in thinking this?

I am 21, just got the s2k. I pay 500 per 6months, full coverage, and minimum deductibles.

Our policy... if you are a driver on one car, you are fully covered on anything. So my mom is technically the "driver" on my car.

As far as getting a car being that young, if you really want it, why not. But make sure you are ready for the payments of the car, the insurance, and the maintenance. You wont be able to carry much, and only seats one other person.
