Default new member and owner

Hello just bought a 2003 with 14000 miles all stock. i live in michigan will only be driving from aprl to oct. One owner car 75 year old did the same in ohio.. What do you think should i get in some type of rust proof ? Thank You !

Congrats on the low mileage find, Seeing you're not planning on driving on salty roads there should be no need for rust proofing at this time.(The car has already made it 15 years). Post some pics when you can and welcome to the group.

No need for rust proofing. I have had my Mustang on the same schedule for 16 years and the undercarriage looks the exact same as day one. It isn't a 70's Alfa that will rust when you look at it the wrong way.

I had mine done with Rust Check for peace of mind. I clean it and store it in a heated garage but for $100 it puts my mind at ease that I won't have to deal with significant rust.

S2000's don't seem too rust prone to me. I have had a few old Z cars and the joke was that they rusted on the showroom floor. Your concern is perfectly valid though since this car has so much life ahead of it. It seemed that Hondas of the 80-90's always rusted out in the wheel well arch. My 2004 CR-V hasn't rusted at all yet and has been driven all year around here in WV where there is salt on the roads in winter and I haven't taken any steps to rust proof it. I haven't noticed much if any obvious rust on similar CR-V's around here. It seems Honda may have improved this somewhat going into the 2000s.

I read somewhere that Honda regarding S 2000 did not rust proof the panels or the frame to make it lighter in weight. Don’t know if this true or is not!
