Im new to this forum...

I currently own a white 05 Evo MR and I am looking to sell this soon. I have been searching around for my next car and I decided to get the s2000.

I registered to this forum to learn more about the s2000 before I buy/trade. Preferably around 2001. I would love to get one with a gt35 turbo or equivalent. Also Im a fan of white!

Are there any common known issues with the s2000?

Also, whats your mpg when you drive the s2k like a grandma?

Common issues:

MY00-01 tend to burn a little bit of oil and run a little rich.

All model years have a lack of storage

 

Consider MY02, only a few bucks more but you get a glass rear window/w defroster vs plastic and a bit more leather in the interior. As last poster said, all AP1s can burn oil so be sure to keep an eye on the level. Also, look out for clutch buzz and wear spots on the top (run searches on both for lots of info). Good luck.

 

clutch buzz, top wear, TCT, other then that good to go. On ave I got anywhere from 25-30mpg HWY, when driving like a grandma. Good luck with that one, esp if you get gears, u find yourself about 6k about 80 times day lol. Good luck with your purchase!! you wont regret it

welcome man, and good luck in your search for your s2k. I would also suggest a 2002 or newer. The glass reer window is a really nice feature and worth the extra few bux. God luck man. Take it easy.
